Jason Seneviratne CBA-U IBA
Behaviour Support Practitioner and Founder
Fifteen years ago, Jason’s path took an unexpected turn when a close family member suffered a traumatic brain injury. This life-altering event became the catalyst for Jason’s professional journey. Driven by a desire to understand and support both his family member, Jason sought information and eventually secured employment at a Brain Injury association.
Starting his early career as a support worker, Jason discovered an unyielding passion for assisting individuals facing similar challenges. He learned to provide kind, compassionate support while upholding their human rights. His commitment extended beyond the basics; he actively worked to enhance their capacity and overall quality of life. During this period, an early iteration of Restrictive Practice guidelines was being introduced in the community services sector in QLD. Jason received internal training to identify and respond to restrictive practices within his organisation. This experience further fueled his dedication to making a positive impact.
Jason’s second pivotal moment occurred at an international conference led by a renowned behaviour analyst. Here, he encountered the fascinating world of behaviour science. The information resonated deeply with him, igniting a newfound purpose. Jason committed his spare time to research and study, culminating in a Post Graduate Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and eventually becoming a credentialled certified behaviour analyst through the Association for Behaviour Analysis Australia and the International Behaviour Analyst Organisation.
Jason’s career is marked by a steadfast commitment to increasing capacity, breaking down barriers, and promoting growth, inclusion, and independence for individuals he supports. His deep understanding of behaviour science, enabling him to tailor interventions that yield positive outcomes.
Jason’s approach is multifaceted. Whether supporting individuals with Autism, mental health conditions, sensory processing disorders, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, or trauma, Jason consistently achieves outstanding outcomes by placing a significant emphasis on walking alongside families, and supporting social capital as foundational to his service delivery philosophy.
In every facet of his work, Jason’s dedication to collaboration, his comprehensive knowledge of behaviour science, and his unwavering commitment to fostering positive change converge to empower individuals and families to lead fulfilling lives. His impact is evident in the meaningful progress and achievements of those he supports, reflecting his enduring passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
